The concept of this game is great. I love the mechanics, but the only issue was that it was difficult to figure out the controls. Once I figured them out, it was fine. (Not sure if there were any controls that I missed) This game really has potential.
(I found the game through Reddit)
Edit: After looking at the game a little bit more, I can create new moons around the planet and advance to the next level, but not sure how either of those happen. As VOid1 Gaming mentioned below, a tutorial would be really helpful.
Thank you for the encouraging words Shockbyte! Yes it does seem like a little bit of context and a very loose tutorial (at the very least) is needed! Possibly even a bit of a story & motive to give the player some agency. I’m glad you had a lovely time :D
I like the idea of a story. As soon as I figured out the controls, I felt that I should be able to land on the main planet.
Quick question, how long did it take you to develop this demo?
Hi Shockbyte. Apologies for the late reply. Landing on planets and “colonising” them or exploring them would be amazing but probably a whole different game unto itself. Though the idea does exist in my mind hehe. How long did it take to develop? That’s a hard question to answer, as these things often percolate for a while & then suddenly become tangible, or take a break to breath before work starts again. I would say if I had to guess that a lot of progress was done over what felt like a few long weekends, but fine tuning things probably took more than a month or so. Hard to say though as one always looks forward when developing & it becomes easy to forget where it all came from! The napkin it was originally scribbled on might be like 2 years old for all anyone knows at this point :D (sorry I don’t have a more concrete answer)
All right, thank you.
No worries about the late reply, I haven't logged on myself since I last commented.
Good luck on your game!
Thank you my friend! We’ll see where it takes us, and your ideas honestly turn cogs in our heads that shape the game moving forward! Stay tuned :D
Hi Shockbyte! Thanks for your feedback. Just to let you know we made the game a bit smoother and added a bit of tutorial UI. We are thinking of having an intro tutorial for the full game, and just starting working on that :)
Without any doubt, this game is very well presented and looks great. The art style and the theme that is taken into account is top-notch, really gives a feel of a professional game. Well done. however, I found it confusing, how to play this game, I was unable to find any tutorial or control instructions to play this.
I would love to check more such awesome content by you ahead of time. All the best for your future projects!
Thank you kindly!
Yes admittedly the hope was to have things be so simple & “elegant” (by our own metrics hehe) to be able to bypass a tutorial… But something is likely to be implemented in the final game for sure VOiD1 Gaming! Don’t you worry!
Probably the best place to keep informed of future content is our Twitter @VoyagerPlay : https://twitter.com/VoyagerPlay
Thank you so much for taking a little bit of your time to play Voyager! Your input is highly cherished :D
That sounds promising! All the best.
Thank you my friend! All the best to you as well!
Hey VOiD1 Gaming! Just thought we’d let you know that we’ve improved the performance of the game a fair bit and have started working on an intro tutorial. A new piece of UI is on the main menu to help guide people, and we’ll try and weave the tutorial properly into the main game :)
That's great, will have a look into the game in a bit.
